Negli anni ’30 si assistette un vero e proprio boom di modellini di auto da corsa costruiti a mano dagli appassionati, noti come “Spindizzy” o “Macchine al Pilone”. Si trattava di copie identiche delle vere automobili di quel tempo, dotate di motori da aeroplani, che correvano in pista legate da cavi ad un polo centrale sfiorando i 220 chilometri orari. Con tutti i loro dettagli e l’incredibile aerodinamicità, queste auto non si potevano di certo definire dei giocattoli, piuttosto delle opere d’arte rappresentative della migliore tecnologia pionieristica dell’epoca. La nostra Bantam Midget è realizzata nel minimo dettaglio secondo i progetti originali progetti. Basta guardarla e si sente già il rombare del motore!
